Dr. Michael Pearl is a fellowship-trained Primary Care Sports Medicine Physician from Windsor, Ontario. He grew up in this community and is proud to now care for patients here at home. A former hockey player himself, Dr. Pearl understands the importance of staying active—whether you’re an athlete, working in a physically demanding job, or just trying to stay mobile and pain-free.

Clinical Expertise
Dr. Pearl treats a wide range of musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions, including:

  • Knee and shoulder injuries
  • Rotator cuff and gluteal tendinopathies
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Tennis elbow (epicondylitis)
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome and trigger finger
  • Tendon sheath and small joint pain

Services Offered

  • Comprehensive MSK assessment and rehabilitation planning
  • Same-day cortisone injections (custom dosing available when imaging is provided)
  • Hyaluronic acid (viscosupplementation) injections
  • Bracing and coordination of physical therapy services

Training and Experience
Dr. Pearl completed his Sports Medicine Fellowship at Henry Ford Health – Henry Ford Hospital in 2025. As part of his training, he worked directly with Detroit’s four major professional sports teams:

  • Detroit Lions (NFL)
  • Detroit Pistons (NBA)
  • Detroit Tigers (MLB)
  • Detroit Red Wings (NHL)

This experience helped shape his practical, results-focused approach to injury care and recovery.

Access to Care

  • All consultations with Dr. Pearl are fully covered by OHIP.
  • If additional treatment options are available that are not covered by OHIP, they may be discussed as part of your care plan. Any such options will always be presented clearly and openly, with no obligation to proceed.

Referrals and Booking

  • Self-referrals are welcome, and no physician referral is required to book an appointment.
  • Referrals from physicians or nurse practitioners are preferred when available, as they help ensure continuity of care and access to relevant clinical information.
  • Online booking is available and encouraged.
  • Patients are advised to wear comfortable clothing for physical assessment.
  • Referrals may be submitted via EMR or fax.

Communication and Follow-Up
We provide prompt acknowledgment of all referrals and ensure timely consultation notes are shared with referring providers to support coordinated care.
